No More Affliction

Daily Devotional – Tuesday, February 25, 2025
What do you conspire against the LORD? He will make an utter end of it. Affliction will not rise up a second time.
Nahum 1:9 (NKJV)

In life, we encounter difficulties, setbacks, and occasionally unrelenting resistance that leaves us questioning whether things will ever get better. Our main verse, however, serves as a potent reminder of God’s omnipotence: He will stop every plan that is made contrary to the Almighty and His children. The difficulties you encounter are temporary.

Trouble Shall Not Rise a Second Time

The original intent of this verse was to denounce the Assyrians. This powerful nation had persecuted God’s people for many years. Despite their violent conquests of other countries, God promised the people of Judah that he would put a stop to their suffering. He would step in forcefully and stop their oppressors.

We are still covered by this promise today. God is in charge of whatever hardship or foe is fighting for your soul, whether it be sin, doubt, fear, or enemy attacks. He cares about your suffering. After observing the battles that aim to deplete you, He says they shall not recur. When God moves, there is nothing that can stop Him.

No More Affliction

Is the struggle you are in seeming to go on forever? How does it make you feel at peace now to know that God is in charge? How can you have faith that God will end your problems when His time is right? Today, have hope that God will end your problems. Cling to Him, for affliction shall not rise a second time.

Prayer

Almighty God, I have faith that You have the last say in whatever situation arises against me. Help me believe in Your promises and to wait for You with confidence.
