No Patch Ups

Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
John 3:5 (NKJV)

Have you ever had a moment where you felt like you needed a fresh start with God? That is the gist of Christ’s conversation with Nicodemus, a respected religious leader. The latter had spent his whole life doing the “right things,” but Jesus told him that that was not enough.

Of Water and the Spirit

We need more than good behavior or head knowledge. We need a deep, inner change. “Water” speaks of being cleansed, of turning away from our old ways. “Spirit” points to a new kind of life that only God can give: a heart that is alive to Him.

This isn’t about being perfect or getting everything right but about allowing God to make us new from the inside out. We don’t have to earn our way into God’s family; we just need to receive the new life He freely offers.

No Patch Ups

God loves to give fresh starts. If you are tired, stuck, or spiritually dry, you are exactly the kind of person Jesus was inviting into the Kingdom. He is not asking for perfection. He is offering transformation.

Are there areas in your life where you’re just “going through the motions” instead of living from the Spirit? What would it look like for you to open your heart to the Holy Spirit today? God doesn’t want to patch up your old life. He wants to give you a brand new one.

Prayer
Almighty God, wash away the things that are weighing me down, and fill me with Your Spirit. Thank You for the gift of a fresh start.
