No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn.
Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV)
When King Balak of Moab realized the Israelites were too powerful for him, he requested Prophet Balaam, “…curse this people for me, for they are too mighty for me.” (Numbers 22:6)
Little did Balak know that the military might of the Israelites was fundamentally spiritual! Balaam consulted God. The Lord commanded the seer, “… you shall not curse the people, for they are blessed.” (Numbers 22:12).
How Shall I Curse Whom God Has Not Cursed?
What followed was a series of attempts by Balak to convince Balaam to curse the Israelites. Balaam replied, “How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? And how shall I denounce whom the LORD has not denounced?” (Numbers 23:8).
Majority of the Israelites were not aware of what and Balak and Balaam were doing. The angels of God, nonetheless, were busy protecting God’s people from danger. Because God’s blessing was upon them, nobody could curse them.
No Weapon Formed Against You Shall Prosper
We find a similar message to a later generation of Israelites in Isaiah 54:17. The Lord promises, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me,”
Evil forces in the physical and spiritual realms surround God’s people on all sides. Our enemies may appear to succeed for a moment, but they will not thwart God’s purposes for us. However, we must continuously surrender to the mercy and protection of God.
Whatever challenges you face today, remember God protects you from more dangers than you can imagine. You are blessed. Nobody can curse you.
Prayer
Thank you, Jesus, because nobody can take away Your divine protection over my life, loved ones and property.
