My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD. In the morning, I will direct it to You, and I will look up.
Psalms 5:3 (NKJV
To paraphrase a Swahili saying, “A good day is known in the morning.” In essence, how you begin your day, determines whether it will be a good or bad one.
Jesus instructed us to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33). Our first duty as Christians is to start the day with God. When the mind is fresh, let us set our priorities and the tempo for the day.
My Voice You Shall Hear in the Morning
Like David, let us affirm, “My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD. In the morning, I will direct it to You, and I will look up.” (Psalms 5:3). Let us ask for God’s approval before our feet touch the floor.
I saw this Facebook post recently: “He has done it again! God has woken us up!” Yes, today is a gift from God! It is another instalment of divine mercy and providence. How can we forget to lift our voices to God in thanksgiving and praise?
O The Blessing and Joy of the Morning!
Ahead of us is a day we have never experienced, but God knows what it contains. Let us invite Him into this day and tell Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” (Exodus 33:15).
Before you venture out, remember to “Commit your way to the LORD. Trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass.” (Psalms 37:5). Affirm with the psalmist, “This is the day the LORD has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalms 118:24).
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for a new day. Walk ahead of me and show me the way. Make me productive to the glory of Your Name.
What are you believing God for as you begin this day, week and month? May God grant it unto you even as you prioritize His will.
