And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.”
Matthew 14:17 (NKJV)
Andrew, ever on the lookout for people to introduce to Jesus, brought a boy to the Master during a crisis. “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?” (John 6:9).
Other people may have carried food that day but only this teenager volunteered to help. He was willing to share his lunch with the rest of the multitude.
Was his lunch enough to feed the crowd? Definitely not!
We know, however, that when the five loaves and two fishes landed on the hands of the Master, five thousand men, plus women and children, ate to their fill. So much was the food that the disciples gathered twelve baskets of leftovers.
Like the little boy, the path to blessings begins with the recognition that nothing you willingly give to Jesus is small in His sight. When we dedicate our talents, intellect and other endowments to Jesus, He will use them to bless others.
It is not the size or quantity of what you bring to Jesus that matters. Rather, it is the willingness to give yourself and all you have to Him. None of us is so poor that we cannot give something to God.
Search within yourself today. What is it that you are willing to dedicate to the service of God? Your money, time and material possessions, however little, can make a difference in the lives of other people and lead souls to Jesus.
Lord Jesus, reveal to me the ‘five loaves and two fishes’ that I need to dedicate to Your service today.
This is a Wonderful teaching Boss.I have learnt a Good lesson here.May God reveal to my heart what I have to give to His service🙏
Amen, Ronny. God bless you for enriching these devotionals.
