Praise the Lord!

Daily Devotional – Sunday, April 11, 2021

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!

Psalm 150:6 (NKJV)

The book of Psalms contains 150 songs or poems that cover various topics. One of the outstanding themes of this collection is praise.

We constantly need to remind ourselves that we were created to glorify God. In Isaiah 43:21, God calls us, “the people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise” (ESV).

Because God created you, praise Him. Because He gave birth to you by saving you on the cross at Calvary, praise Him. The fact that He gives you breath and sustains your life is a reason for you to offer Him adoration.

If you have not been treated for any health conditions in the near past, praise Jehovah! If you have been treated and discharged, and you have recovered, give thanks to God.

If you are not feeling well, but you are alive, God says, “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.” (Psalm 150:6).

Do you have a job that you wake up to every day? Praise the Lord. Are you looking for your first job or a new one? Praise God because you are alive and healthy, able to look for employment.

Are you going through a tough time, unsure of what the future holds for you? Well, praise the Lord for three reasons. One, He is the One who holds the future. Two, He gave you trials He knew you could overcome. Three, He gives the toughest battles to His strongest soldiers.

If you find no other reasons to praise the Lord, just do it because you are part of “everything that has breath.

Father, today I just want to praise you for sustaining my life.
