Remembering the Blessings

Daily Devotional – Sunday, June 1, 2025
Bless the LORD, O my soul and forget not all His benefits.
Psalms 103:2 (NKJV)

Life moves fast. We get caught up in bills, deadlines, family needs, and unexpected struggles. Sometimes it feels like we are barely keeping up. In the chaos, we often forget what God has already done for us.

Forget not all His Benefits

Our key text is like a gentle nudge to the heart. David is reminding himself not to forget God’s blessings. It is as if he is saying, “Hey, don’t get so overwhelmed that you miss all the good things God has done.”

Indeed, God has done so much. He forgives our mess-ups. He heals our bodies and hearts. He rescues us when we are in trouble, surrounds us with love, and fills our lives with good things. That is not just ancient poetry but real-life grace.

Remembering the Blessings

When we slow down and remember all that, something shifts. We are likely to experience lower stress levels and something even more fundamental. Gratitude starts to rise. Praise starts to feel more natural than complaining.

Think back on a time God helped you, showed up for you, or gave you peace when you needed it most. That is the kind of remembering David is talking about. It feeds our faith and brings hope back to the surface.

Write a list of the ways God has blessed or helped you lately, whether big or small. Then just take a quiet minute to say, “Thank you.” You will be surprised at how it lifts your spirit.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for being so faithful, even when I get distracted or discouraged. Help me pause and remember Your blessings, which I don’t take for granted
