Trust in God with all Your Heart

Daily Devotional – Friday, March 15, 2024
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5–6 (NKJV)

It is sometimes difficult to find faith in a world full of uncertainty and change. We can find ourselves struggling with uncertainties, worries, and fears, questioning if we can really rely on anybody or anything. But, it is our duty as Christians to firmly rely on God’s unwavering nature.

Put All Of Your Trust In The Lord

A timeless reminder of where our trust should be found can be found in Proverbs 3:5–6. The first instruction is to “trust in the Lord with all your heart.” This is a complete surrender to God’s goodness and sovereignty, not a token faith.

It is not a guarantee that we will always understand God’s ways or avoid hardships when we trust Him. In actuality, the road of faith frequently entails ambiguous moments and difficulties that test the depth of our belief. However, we can find comfort in the knowledge that God is with us and will lead us through every turn of life.

In Every Way Give Him Thanks

Solomon further affirms: “and He shall direct your paths” is the secret to developing trust. Belief is more than just a choice. It is a daily submission of our will to God’s will. While trusting God does not guarantee a smooth or obstacle-free road, it does guarantee that He will guide us on the correct route.

Reaffirming our resolve to complete surrender and submission, let us consider the exhortation to trust in the Lord. May we put more faith in the knowledge and kindness of our Heavenly Father and less faith in our own comprehension.
