Trusting God in all Seasons

Daily Devotional – Wednesday, August 27, 2025
Trust in Him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before Him. God is a refuge for us.
Psalms 62:8 (NKJV)

David apparently wrote Psalm 62 when life was messy. People were plotting against him, and even those he thought he could trust were letting him down. In that pressure, he didn’t lean on power or wealth but on God. And through it all, he discovered that God alone could be trusted when everything else was falling apart.

God Our Refuge

That’s why, in verse 8, David turns to the people and says, “Trust in Him at all times.” It is like he is saying, “I’ve been through the storm, and I found shelter in God. You can too.”

And here is the beautiful part: David says we can “pour out our hearts before Him.” Think about that. God is not asking us to hold it together or pretend we are fine. He invites us to bring it all to Him—the anger, the tears, the confusion, and the fears. He is not turned off by our honesty. In fact, He welcomes it.

Trusting God in all Seasons

David finishes the verse with this truth: God is our refuge—not a temporary distraction, not a fragile hiding spot, but a strong shelter. Even when the storm is still raging, God provides us with a place to breathe.

Therefore, today, don’t carry it all alone. Talk to Him. Empty your heart before Him. And trust that He will hold you steady, because He truly is your safe place.

Prayer
Father, thank You for being my safe place. Help me to trust You no matter what season I am in. Teach me to be honest with You and to rest in Your care.
