Trusting God in the Silence

Daily Devotional – Saturday, October 4, 2025
Where is your God?
Psalm 42:3 (NIV)

I once visited a friend whose business had just collapsed. As we sat in his near-empty shop, he shared how some neighbors had begun mocking him, asking, “So, where is your God now?” Their words cut deep, not just because of the financial loss, but because they made him question if God was truly near.

From Tears to Triumph

That experience reminded me of Psalm 42, where the writer also wrestles with this same painful question. “Where is your God?” It can sound like an accusation or a cruel reminder of our struggles. But these moments, as difficult as they are, can become opportunities for deeper faith. They invite us to seek God more passionately, even when we don’t feel His presence.

The truth is, God never abandons us. Our emotions may tell us otherwise, and circumstances may scream louder than our faith, but His presence is constant. Choosing to trust Him in the silence is one of the strongest declarations of faith we can make.

Trusting God in the Silence

In seasons when you feel questioned by life or by others, lean into God’s promises. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray for you and remind you of His faithfulness. Often, their encouragement helps us see what we might miss in our pain.

Thus, when you hear that haunting question, “Where is your God?”, let it drive you closer to Him. Let it remind you that His presence is not defined by what you feel but by who He is. He is always with you, even in the darkest valleys.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, when doubt creeps in and others question Your presence, help me trust that You are always near, faithful, and working in my life.
