We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (NKJV)
Have you ever looked back at your life and experiences and wondered how you made it? Do you remember that time you thought you had hit a dead end concluded you would not live to see the next day? It takes God’s intervention to remain unbowed and still standing.
Unyielding and Strong
I read the story of a man who spent so many years in a hospital bed that his family wrote him off. The doctor’s reports continuously predicted doom. This man always had a few months to live but many years later, God healed him and he left the hospital. He never gave up and God did not either.
A young Christian who was active in church veered off the faith. For years, she wallowed in sin, pleasure and the misery that comes with abandoning God. Her former church mates concluded she was lost forever. One day she came back to God. God had not given up on her.
Relentless with Unflinching Faith
Perhaps you know people who have experienced or are going through similar experiences. They keep moving from job to another, with long periods of joblessness in between, but God still provides for them. Life gives them a beating, but they remain strong.
Have you ever thought of abandoning your spiritual journey? The devil besets you with grievous temptations and trials. The more you serve God, the more your life appears to get tougher. You begin to wonder whether God understands your predicament but you keep fighting.
Determined to Win
Apostle Paul was no stranger to physical and spiritual battles. He wrote, “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9).
It is as if this statement is from a diamond as it undergoes years of ‘manufacture’ underground. Nature subjects the gem to immense and sustained pressure. Eventually, the prized stone emerges to adorn royalty.
Unbowed and Still Standing
The secret to triumph in all aspects of life is resilience, perseverance and unflinching trust in God. Do not allow circumstances and people to bring you down or talk you out of your dreams. Ask God for more faith and tenacity to remain unbowed and still standing.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, only by Your power can I remain unbowed and still standing a world full of temptations and hardships. Increase my faith.

This life you may be down in the deep ditches of defeat and Despair.
But Christ grace is sufficient to pull us out.
No one out their should loose hope or be discouraged on account of failure because God has made provisions through christ to help us.through christ, grace is always available to those who are battling with their failure. We just Need a connection to Christ.
True, Doc, by the Grace of God, we will overcome.
I liked this version.
Living bible translation,
(2nd Cor 4:8-9).We get knocked down but we get up again and keep going.
Getting Knocked down is part of the process. Being hard pressed only strengthen us.
just like a boxing match so is life, defeat is determined by not how many times you’re knocked down but by how many times you get up when down. So nice indeed, STILL STANDING.!
That version says it all, doc
