We Give Thanks to You, O God

We give thanks to You, O God. We give thanks! For Your wondrous works declare that Your Name is near.
Psalms 75:1 (NKJV)

We give thanks to You, O God, because of your immense love for us, unlovable human beings. Your sacrificial love on Calvary is an eternal reminder of Your unconditional love, the kind that leaves ninety-nine sheep in the fold and pursues one straying animal in the dangerous wild.

Our Gratitude Ascends to You

Receive our gratitude for giving us life freely. We do not take it for granted that many people we were with yesterday are no longer alive. For each new day You mercifully give us, we are eternally indebted to you. Every breath we enjoy is a reason for us to pour our hearts to You in thanksgiving.

We appreciate You for physical, mental, spiritual and social wellbeing. Countless are the times You have healed us from all sorts of illnesses and given us multiple chances to enjoy life. It is a privilege to know that we serve the Great Physician, the same One who walked the dusty paths of Galilee, healing all manner of diseases.

Thank You for Your Providence

Almighty God, thank You for providing for our materials needs. You have blessed our farms, businesses and jobs. We go out in the morning and return in the evening with blessings. You have ensured we have clean water, fresh air and a daily supply of food. Indeed, You deserve our gratitude!

We thank You, God, for placing us in families, whether biological or adoptive. In Your kindness, You have given us support systems in the form of parents, grandparents, guardians, siblings, spouses, children and in-laws. Thank You for giving us shoulders to lean on and pour our tears. We appreciate You for giving us these listening ears.

We Give Thanks to You, O God

Accept our thankfulness, Father, for giving us friends and neighbours. Thank You because they respond to our cries for help. We are appreciative because these people participate in our joys and sorrows. It is reassuring to know we can count on their prayers and support.

Dear God, it is impossible to enumerate all Your blessings. We cannot, however, forget how close You are to us, especially in our moments of trial and failure. You are the Friend Who sticks closer than a brother does. “We give thanks to You, O God. We give thanks! For Your wondrous works declare that Your Name is near.” (Psalms 75:1).
