When God Gives You a Vision

Daily Devotional – Monday, December 30, 2024
Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets that he may run who reads it.
Habakkuk 2:2 (NKJV)

God addresses the prophet directly in Habakkuk 2:2, instructing him to write a vision intelligibly on tables such that anybody who read it could comprehend and act upon it. This verse expresses God’s need for clarity as well as His exhortation to respond to His Word.

Write the Vision

God invites us to make His truth evident in our own lives, the same way the prophet was to inscribe the vision clearly on tablets. It is our duty as His children to demonstrate His message to the world by our words, deeds, and manner of life as we are His witnesses.

The purpose of the vision is to make the reader move—”that he may run who reads it.” We cannot just stand by and do nothing when we come across God’s truth. It is our duty to deliberately seek out the things that God has planned for us.

When God Gives You a Vision

What had God revealed to you today or in the past through His word or circumstance? Write down that revelation. Ask God to clarify His intentions for you. How does God want you to conduct yourself today? Do you need to take a step ahead in obedience and faith?

If you are in a season of waiting, remember that God’s vision for your life will come to pass in His perfect time. Trust that He is faithful and that what He has promised, He will fulfill. When God gives you a vision, write it down and act on it.

Prayer
Lord, I am grateful for Your faithfulness and clarity. Help me to act on the vision You reveal to me and to obey You always.
