Who humbles Himself to behold the things that are in the heavens and in the earth?
Psalms 113:6 (NKJV)
The thirteenth psalm because presents two wonderful extremes of God’s character. While He is the Sovereign Owner and Ruler of the Universe and lives in indescribable majesty, the Almighty humbles Himself to the level of fallible human beings.
Praise the Omnipotent God!
Let us first join the psalmist in praising the His Majesty who dwells in heaven:
Praise the LORD!
Praise, O servants of the LORD,
Praise the name of the LORD!
Blessed be the name of the LORD
From this time forth and forevermore!
From the rising of the sun to its going down
The LORD’s name is to be praised.
The LORD is high above all nations,
His glory above the heavens. (Psalms 113:1-4).
The psalmist reminds us that our praise should ascend to God unceasingly. The Lord rules over the universe and holds it together. All the nations of the earth are subject to Him. Our Sustainer and Provider deserves the adoration of all created beings. Praise the LORD!
Our Personal God
Now, let us turn our focus to the God who, despite His Power and Glory, reaches out to His wayward creation.
Who is like the LORD our God,
Who dwells on high,
Who humbles Himself to behold
The things that are in the heavens and in the earth?
He raises the poor out of the dust,
And lifts the needy out of the ash heap,
That He may seat him with princes—
With the princes of His people.
He grants the barren woman a home,
Like a joyful mother of children.
Praise the LORD! (Psalms 113:5-9).
His home is in heaven but He humbles himself to attend to His earthly children. God transforms the lives of the sinful, poor, miserable, downtrodden, outcasts, sick and other disadvantaged individuals.
When the Almighty God Humbles Himself
What a Wonderful God we serve. We praise Him Because He is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient. Thankfully, He is also a personal God. He stoops down to listen to our cries and attend to our needs. He is not ashamed to associate with our weaknesses. After all, He is Immanuel, God with Us.
Here is the New Testament version of Psalms 113:
“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” (Philippians 2:5-9).
Praise the Almighty God Who Humbles Himself to reach His beloved wayward children!

Amen..! Blessed to know how much God would humble himself to our level..He who Angels adore, Seraphims and Cherubims sing His praises, Heaven and Earth adore Him. Our mighty God would come down to our level and dwell with us.
He became Flesh in Jesus, and was born the lowest birth ever, He who is mighty walked the dusty earth as we do and lived with us,was in like manner tempted as we are yet without sin. So that He can with humility identify with us.
I’m glad that God humbled himself and came down to my level.
Halleluiah, Doc. Indeed, Jesus humbled Himself that He may elevate us.
Our Almighty God deserves our praise and adoration
That’s true, my brother.
Amen
Amen, Martin. Blessings on you.
