When We See the Full Picture

For now, we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face-to-face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
1 Corinthians 13:12 (NKJV)

Have you ever gazed into a cloudy mirror after a hot shower? Your image will be misty and incomplete. According to the Apostle Paul, this is similar to how we currently view God and His purposes in our lives. However, a day is coming when the full picture will appear.

We See Dimly

Our earthly viewpoint is limited. We see glimmers of God’s plan, splendor, and love, but we haven’t yet seen the full picture. We have a dim view presently. We struggle with unsolved prayers, dashed hopes, and incomprehensible riddles.

Paul, however, wants us to have faith. He alludes to the day when we will be able to see God in person. Imagine that moment—all fear banished by His love, every question silenced by His presence. Everything that had been hazy will then become plain.

When We See the Full Picture

Paul further asserts, “I shall know just as I also am known.” Our Heavenly Father has complete knowledge of us. Every imperfection, each tear, each hope. Nevertheless, He still loves us. Being completely seen while being loved is more important for our future than simply having clear vision.

Take heart if you feel like you are trudging through fog today. God is not finished with you yet. What He has not done for you cannot compare to what is in store. Until you see the full picture, have faith that God will hold your hand in the darkness because He already sees perfectly.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You because You understand me even when I don’t fully comprehend. Help me to walk with You faithfully even as I wait to see You face-to-face and the full picture appears.
