Where Do You Find True Rest?

Truly my soul finds rest in God. My salvation comes from him.
Psalms 62:1 (NIV)

Finding true rest can be challenging in a world full of noise, distractions, and never-ending demands. Our minds are constantly racing with obligations, concerns, and uncertainties, and we turn to fleeting solaces like relationships, financial stability, or accomplishments, but these things frequently make us even more restless and empty.

Truly My Soul Finds Rest in God

In today’s key text, we encounter David, the psalmist, in a moment of quiet reflection. David understood that real peace does not come from the world but from God alone. When he said, “Truly my soul finds rest in God,” he was expressing a deep trust in the Lord’s faithfulness. His peace was not based on favorable circumstances but on the confidence that he had God on his side.

Until our souls are rooted in God, they can never have rest. David serves as a reminder that genuine tranquility and repose come from God, not from other factors. Our salvation is guaranteed when we wait for the Lord in silence.
