Where is God Facing?

Daily Devotional – Thursday, September 26, 2024
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.
1 Peter 3:12 (ESV)

Where is God facing? The idea that God is watching over the virtuous conveys a sense of heavenly awareness—He sees our hearts, our challenges, and our efforts. How reassuring it is to know that our Father in Heaven is constantly involved in our lives, and that we are never alone in our efforts to live moral lives.

The Eyes of the Lord are on You

It gives us great comfort to know that God hears our prayers. It encourages us to approach Him with assurance because we know that He hears us. When we pray in times of happiness, grief, or uncertainty, He answers according to His perfect will. This call to prayer is a reminder of our reliance on Him.

On the other hand, the verse’s final section serves as a sobering warning of what happens when we live without Him. God’s face is turned away from evildoers, emphasizing how important our decisions and the paths we choose are. It challenges us to consider how our deeds relate to God’s righteousness.

Where is God Facing?

Do you feel cut off in some aspects of your life? How can you get a deeper relationship with God? Make a deliberate effort to bring your entire existence to God’s attention in prayer. Whether big or small, trust that He hears you. Think about how your daily decisions demonstrate your dedication to leading a moral life. Always, make sure God is facing you.

Prayer
Thank you, Heavenly Father, because Your eyes and ears are on me.
