Daily Devotional – Wednesday, May 21, 2025

Psalms 115:2 (NKJV)

Have you ever gone through something so hard that people start to wonder, “If they believe in God, why is this happening to them?” Or maybe you’ve even asked yourself, “God, where are You in all this?

When God Appears Absent

The world looks at God’s people in their struggles and asks, “Where is their God?” This is not just a question. It is a challenge. It is what people say when they don’t understand how a loving, powerful God could allow pain, delay, or silence.

The psalmist, though, is not shaken by the question and insinuation. He states in verse 3, “But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases.” God isn’t like the idols the world clings to. Our God is alive. He hears us, sees us, and is with us, especially when life is hard.

Where is Your God?

The next time you or someone else wonders, “Where is God in this?”, remember: He’s still God, still good, and still working. Sometimes, the waiting seasons and quiet moments are where the deepest trust is built.

Have you ever felt like people questioned your faith because of what you were going through? What helps you remember that God is still present when life gets difficult? How can your trust in God be a quiet answer to those who ask, “Where is your God?
