Why it is Easier to Go to Heaven than to Hell

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23 (NKJV)

The week has ended. Workers at a construction site line up to be paid. A stranger joins them and demands for pay. At the very least, people will conclude that that individual is insane.

Now, imagine a situation where people get a salary for not working. The master gives each of them a huge sum of money to cater for their lifetimes needs. That is impossible. You say

Well, the Apostle Paul thinks otherwise when he writes, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23).

A life is sin is rewarded with a wage – death. In other words, for you to get lost, you really need to work hard. Striving against the convicting and persuading voice of the Holy Spirit is hard work.

On the other hand, God offers you a gift – eternal life. It is free. You only need to believe in Jesus to get eternal life. (John 3:16). God does not ask you for anything, other than faith, for Him to save you.

The bottom-line is, if you get lost, you will really have worked for it. Conversely, if you inherit eternal life, it will be because you believed in the transformative gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why should you work so hard and reap eternal death when you can reach out and accept the gift of eternal life Jesus offers today?

Lord Jesus, today I affirm my faith in you. Thank you for the gift of eternal life.
