So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please…” (Isaiah 55:11).
I spent a couple of years working in an extreme arid area. Rain was rare, but when it fell, the land would turn lush green. Where there was sand and dust, you would find lush green vegetation in a few weeks.
In Isaiah 55, God compares His Word to the life-giving rain that transforms a desert into a carpet of beautiful vegetation and flowers.
“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it”
(Isaiah 55:11).
In Genesis 1, God’s Word created the earth. The word later came down in the person of Jesus Christ. He came to seek and to save the lost. Jesus died on Calvary and forever secured the salvation of man.
The same principle applies to your life. Whatever God has spoken about your life will happen. God promises, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11, NKJV).
The fulfilment of God’s purposes in your life may not be evident at once. After rain falls, it takes time before vegetation springs up. Similarly, God’s powerful and life-giving word will accomplish its desired purposes in your life, despite what seems like delays.
That is why you can trust the word of God.
Father, thank You because I can trust in Your transformative word and Your purposes for my life.
Thanks bro
