Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.
Revelation 1:3 (NKJV)
I am an avid reader. However, my eyesight is not as strong as it used to be. Computer and mobile phone screens have contributed to this situation. The existence of e-books and related alternatives has improved my reading but worsened my eyesight.
That is why I appreciate audiobooks. I do not have to strain my eyes anymore. If I cannot read, I can listen to a book. I have no excuse for not feeding my mind with relevant and critical information and knowledge.
Blessed are those who Read, Hear and Keep God’s Word
Similarly, there is no excuse for not reading the Bible. In the preamble to Revelation, God pronounces blessings:
“Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.” (Revelation 1:3).
God blesses those who read or hear His word and keep it. If you lack a physical Bible, you can download a pertinent version to read or listen to on your mobile phone or computer. Moreover, the Bible is available in most languages and dialects.
No Excuse for Not Feasting on Heavenly Manna
God speaks through the Bible and those who love Him listen keenly. Are you missing the blessings of reading or hearing God’s word and keeping it? What excuse do you have for not feasting on heavenly manna every day?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, inculcate in me the desire to read or listen to Your word and to live by it.
Amen…may God give us a thirst and hunger for this manna
Amen. Doc.
