Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening, let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.
Ecclesiastes 11:6 (NKJV)
The Bible is the manual for human life. It is not just a religious book. It contains instructions on many aspects of life. Today, let us focus on what the Bible teaches about investing, an issue that concerns most of us.
The author of Ecclesiastes applies the analogy of planting to teach us about investments. We are urged to plant both in the morning and in the evening. In most societies, planting happens during the day and not in the evening, which is reserved for resting.
However, we are reminded that when we plant seeds, we cannot be sure of which ones will germinate and yield a good harvest, which ones will fail, or whether all will thrive. There are risks involved in farming, hence the need for a Plan B.
The bottom line is that God expects us to be prudent and proactive in the way we generate our income. While it is desirable and commendable to have a stable job or business, it makes practical sense to have side jobs.
The secret is starting in the ‘morning’, which refers to the most productive time and years of your life, or as soon as possible. For example, when you are younger, build a respectable and profitable career. As you grow older (evening), establish and grow other sources of income.
Let us approach the issue from another angle. During the day (morning), work on your major stream of income, for example, your salaried job. After work (evening), concentrate on your side job, e.g., a farming project in your home or an online job.
What matters is that if one venture fails, the other one will support you. If all streams succeed, you will become wealthy. Material resources will help you take care of personal and family needs (1 Timothy 5:8). You will also be able to support religious and societal work.
Prayer
Father, I know you want me to excel in all aspects of life, not just in spiritual matters. Give me wisdom to know where and how to establish additional streams of income.

Christianity is not just about attending church. it is eking out a living and demonstrating the grace of God in your life. What is your opinion? Should we have extra streams of income? Give your comment below.
Thank you for this Elder,,Indeed we are called upon to be open minded and not put all our eggs in one basket.
That’s it Brian. Be blessed in all your endeavours.
Side-Jobs are essentially important in one’s life. The idea of diversity originated from God Himself during Creation of Universe,,as He Created Flora & Fauna..In my Opinion therefore if it is within one’s reach,,just do.Though sometimes, you find in a Situation like that of our Country,,even finding that Relied Job is becoming an Issue hence to Youths, the Whole Idea is an Illusion…But we trust in God for His Devine Intervention 🙏🙏
I feel you, Chairman. The secret is trusting God and doing your best in whatever comes your way.
