Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)
The father had crossed the road. His five year-old son was stuck on the other side. He urged the fearful boy to walk across the road, which was not very busy at that time. After trying several times, it became apparent the child needed a helping hand.
Innumerable Reasons for Fear
The older man traversed the road to fetch the boy but the little one would not budge. He demanded that the father holds his hand. Once this was done, they young one gladly and confidently crossed to the other side.
As I watched the two from a distance, I realized we are like the little boy. Surrounding us are many reasons for fear. Diseases, financial problems, accidents, destructive relationships, and harmful natural and social environments, among others.
Fear Not, For I Am With You
Every day, we wake up to a new set of challenges. We wonder how we will overcome them. Sometimes we feel like giving up because we have no one to walk the journey with us. We wish there was someone to help us navigate the rough terrain.
According to Prophet Isaiah, there is such a Person. The Almighty God says, “Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10).
Why You Should not Fear
God understand the stress you go through in our families and other relationships. He sees how we agonize over our relatives who are addicted to illicit drugs and alcohol. The Lord appreciates our struggle with the sin that cleaves so closely.
He invites us to trust Him and not fear anything. If we submit to Him, He will give us strength to face and overcome our trials. God will not only help us, He will hold our hands and help us cross life’s most perilous roads.
Prayer
Almighty Father, because You have promised to hold my hand and lead me through my challenges, I will not fear.
Some preacher said, “God says fear not 365 times in the bible, like everyday He whispers to our ears, My Son, You’re waking up in a crazy, chaotic world, but fear not, for i am with you. I am Your God.
Indeed, He does.
Another said, Fear would mean acrostically ,False Evidence Appearing Real.
And this is a false feeling imposed on us sometimes by the Devil. But the bible tells us, For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind,2 Timothy 1:7.
When we love and know God we would be fearless people. For perfect love of the divine cast out fear. 1 John 4:18.
Amen, Doc.
