…If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.
Exodus 33:15 (NKJV)
Whenever I have important projects to undertake, or when I face dark times, I find myself seeking for God’s assurance and physical presence. That is why I can relate to Moses, in Exodus 33.
God instructs the Israelites to leave Sinai and head to Canaan, but without His Presence. The reason? They are stiff-necked people who might provoke God to destroy them, if He travels with them.
After a conversation between Moses and God, however, Jehovah promises His Presence will go with His children. Moses, though, wants greater assurance from God.
He pleads, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here” (verse 15). His reasons? One, God’s Presence would prove He was pleased with His people. Two, it would differentiate His people from other nations of the world.
Moses’ appeal to God must become ours if we are to prosper in spiritual and secular matters. We should be reluctant to begin any projects, businesses and relationships unless we are sure God is with us.
In 1 John 5:14, we read, “And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.” If our plans are in tandem with God’s will, we will not hesitate to ask Him to go with us.
However, because of our human tendency to sin, it is always important to counter-check with God, whether we should proceed. Today, go down on your knees and seek God’s approval and presence for your plans.
Abba Father, if my plans are not according to Your will, please don’t allow me to proceed with them.
Blessed by this scripture,,reminds me that I should consinstly seek for His will and allow him to lead me
Thank you, Juster, for your comment. Indeed, we need God all the way. Be blessed.
