Because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert
Isaiah 43:20 (NIV)
The Egyptian army had trapped the children of Israel. They could not escape through the Red Sea. They had to surrender or die. From a human perspective, there was no way out. It was now time for God to do only what He could do.
God “… made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters…” (Isaiah 43:16). Not even Moses could have imagined this would happen. God made a way where there was no way.
The same God came through for Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. He saved them from Nebuchadnezzar’s fiery furnace. Only God could perform such a miracle.
When Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den, both friends and enemies were sure He would die. However, God shut the mouths of the lions in the den and saved His faithful servant.
When Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery, his story was over, according to human understanding. It is only though God’s love and kindness that Joseph later became the prime minister of Egypt.
The same God is at work today. He specializes in doing the impossible. What we see as insurmountable challenges, He will turn into possibilities. Where we have lost hope of healing, employment and happiness, God will offer solutions we never knew existed.
We serve a God of miracles. When we reach the end of our human efforts and wisdom; when we think there is no way out for us, let us trust the God who creates “rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:20).
For “with God, all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26).
Lord Jesus, I submit my ‘impossibilities’ to you because I know everything is possible with You.
How has God created for you a river in your wilderness? Please share in your comments to encourage others. Be blessed.
Thank you for the encouragement. Indeed there is nothing too hard for our God. His area of speeciality is making the impossible poossible.
I WILL TRUST HIM EVEN NOW!
Amen, Paterson.
Wonderful…..with God all things are possible…… Amen
