With Unveiled Faces

Daily Devotional – Sunday, April 27, 2025
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV)

When Paul talks about us having unveiled faces in today’s guiding text, he is describing our closeness and freedom with God. We don’t have to keep our distance anymore. In Jesus, the veil is lifted. We get to come near, see Him clearly, and be with Him face-to-face.

From Glory to Glory

And when we spend time looking at Him, really focusing on His goodness and glory, something amazing happens: we start to change. It is not about trying harder or forcing ourselves to be better. Rather, it is the Spirit working inside of us, slowly shaping our hearts and lives to reflect Jesus more and more.

Paul says we are being transformed from glory to glory. That means this journey is not a one-time event but a lifelong process. Some days it might feel like we are stuck or not growing at all, but God’s Spirit is always moving, always gently molding us to look more like Christ.

With Unveiled Faces

Today, let us take a moment to lift our eyes off our worries, our mistakes, and our to-do lists. Let us turn our attention fully to Him, to His beauty, His love, and His holiness. As we keep our eyes on Jesus, we can trust that He is doing the deep work inside us, changing us bit by bit, from glory to glory.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You that because of You, I can come close without fear. Help me to keep my eyes on You today. Work in my heart, even when I don’t see it, and keep making me more like You.
