You are my Hiding Place From Trouble

You are my hiding place. You shall preserve me from trouble. You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.
Psalms 32:7 (NKJV)

In countries at high risk of aerial bombardments, the government builds special bunkers where people hide from danger. Whenever there is a threat, sirens are activated, and civilians rush to the bunkers for safety. In ancient days, people would flee to mountains and caves to hide from the enemy.

You are my Hiding Place

While many of us do not live in constant fear of attacks from foreign armies, we need a hiding place from the many troubles we face in life. Where do we flee to when sickness, financial challenges, broken relationships, addictions, and other troubles assail us?

David gives the answer in Psalm 32:7, when he tells God, “You are my hiding place. You shall preserve me from trouble. You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.” Picture yourself fleeing from trouble and landing in the loving arms of Jesus!

My Help Comes From the LORD

God wants us to trust Him more than people trust bunkers during a bombardment. He desires that when Satan and his agents attack us, we will find refuge under the wings of the Almighty.

When the world around you crumbles and you have nowhere to hold on to, make this affirmation: “I will lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.” (Psalms 121:1-2).

Notice that when we run to God for help, safety and peace, He will be so happy, He will surround us with songs of deliverance. (Psalms 32:7)

Prayer
Lord Jesus, I come to you, my Refuge, with all my troubles, fears and burdens. Thank You because You will surround me with songs of deliverance.
