For this is what the LORD Almighty says: “…for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye.”
Zechariah 2:8 (NKJV)
The eyeball is arguably the most protected part of the eye. The eyelids and eyelashes are very protective of this part of the eye. After all, no one wants to lose sight.
In figurative language, the eyeball is called the apple of the eye. The apple is the king of fruits. Remember, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away.” So precious is the fruit, it is compared to the pupil of the eye.
With this in mind, you will appreciate Prophet Zechariah when he observes of the relationship between you and God, “…whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye.”
I love this verse because it reminds me how special I am to God. He will do everything to protect me. For example, He promises that His angels will camp around me to deliver me (Psalm 34:7).
Concerning Israel’s, it was said, “He kept him as the apple of His eye.” Deuteronomy 32:10 (NKJV). God delivered Jacob’s children from Egypt with a mighty arm, led them through the wilderness, and fought against their enemies. No one could touch God’s people and go unpunished.
Like Israel, you are the apple of God’s eye; the object of His love. That is why Christ left heaven to come and die for you. He braved death on the cross, to demonstrate His love for you.
Today, walk with your shoulders held high. Do not fear what human beings can do to you. Do not dread evil plans the devil devises against you. Stand strong; you are the apple of God’s eye!

An apple of the eye is that very part of the that makes one see.
It is very sensitive to anything outside getting near.
It is very delicate that there is cornea and eyelid had to do the protection.
So, as the apple of an eye that’s how we became the moment we were given power to be the children of God.
Anything harmful direct to us is protected by God. That’s why we hidden far away for the enermy not to harm us. We (believers) the apple and God the Eye. God bless you Mr Maina for daily devotions.
