Stand Out From the Crowd

…Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God
Genesis 6:9 (NKJV)

It is not easy to stand out from the crowd especially in spiritual matters. Countless times, I have heard people say that God cannot destroy all human beings because almost everyone is a sinner anyway. In contrast, the story of Noah illustrates that God rewards those who remain faithful to Him, however few.

I Will Destroy Man

Here is one of the saddest passages in the Bible:
Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the LORD said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.”” (Genesis 6:5-7)

But Noah Found Grace Before God

Considering God is merciful, gracious and longsuffering (Exodus 34:6-7), the Antediluvians must have been quite rebellious. Sin was as common as the air the people breathed. God was fed up. He decided to destroy the earth and all its inhabitants “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.” (Genesis 6:8).

Noah distinguished himself from the corrupt world (Read Genesis 6:11-12) around him because He “was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.” (Genesis 6:9). He refused to conform to the iniquity of his day and walked with God. The world could attest that Noah was different in attitude, speech and conduct.

Stand out From the Crowd

Today, the world needs individuals of the caliber of Noah, who are not afraid to stand for God when the majority succumb to Satan’s temptations. Such people walk with Jesus daily, spending precious time in prayer and scripture with Him. Their uniqueness is not an accident but a result of deliberately communing with God.

Will you stand out from the crowd, however unpopular this makes you? Can God count on you to remain faithful in a chronically rebellious society? The God who rewarded Noah for loyalty is the same One Who has promised you eternal life. God will reward you for standing for Him.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, because You are a trustworthy, I will stand out from the crowd for You.

Christians know that God loves them, but can easily feel that he is perpetually disappointed and frustrated, maybe even close to giving up on them. As a result, they focus a lot―and rightly so―on what Jesus has done to appease God’s wrath for sin. But how does Jesus Christ actually feel about his people amid all their sins and failures? Buy and read this powerful book on Amazon to find out more.
