God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
Hebrews 6:10 (NIV)
Many years after high school, I met a former classmate who made a surprising confession.
When he joined our school, my friends and I led him to Christ through our act of sharing bread and Swahili buns (Maandazi) during breakfast.
To us, it was normal to be generous to a new colleague. We even recruited him into our small group that visited local churches, where we preached, sang and presented skits. To him, we exemplified love and genuine Christianity. Today he is a church pastor.
Have you ever been appreciated for an act of generosity to an acquaintance or a stranger? On the flipside, how many of your kind deeds have gone unnoticed and unrecognized? Actually, you tend to forget most of your benevolent acts because you are not after praise or reward.
Well, there is One who never forgets your good deeds towards His children. Scripture says that God is not unjust to forget the love we show Him through serving our neighbors. While human beings may not notice it, God does.
You don’t need to remind God about your charitable deeds. He has recorded all of them. One day, He will reward you accordingly. Whatever you do for God is never in vain. Go ahead; help another one of His children today, and let God keep His records.
Prayer
Almighty God, I am happy to know you don’t forget my good deeds in my service to your people.
