Daily Devotional – Sunday, March 17, 2024
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)

The persistent determination to keep moving forward, especially when the road ahead appears difficult and unknown, is what is known as perseverance. As Christ’s disciples, we are to walk with Him faithfully and persistently, putting our faith in His goodness and faithfulness.

Keep Up the Good Work

Perseverance is having the guts to confront challenges and not give up when our prayers don’t seem to be heard. However, the apostle Paul cautions, saying, “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for if we do not give up, at the proper time we will reap a harvest.” (Galatians 6:9). After we have done our share, we should trust God to finish the job, just like a hardworking farmer.

Our active and vibrant connection with Christ, which is based on prayer, studying His Word, and communion with other believers, is how we start to endure. Our will to endure is bolstered, and our faith is deepened as we remain in Him.

Keep Going

Perseverance also entails giving up our own goals and aspirations in favour of God’s flawless plan. We give our lives over to Him every day, believing that His methods are higher than ours and that His thoughts are higher than ours.

If you are confronted with obstacles that seem overwhelming, never forget that God is always there to give you strength. Rely on His grace, take courage from His being there, and press on with steadfast confidence. If you persevere, you will overcome the challenges you encounter. Keep going, for victory is assured.

Almighty God, give me the strength to hold fast to my faith.
