Do You Want to be Satisfied?

Daily Devotional – Sunday, March 24, 2024
He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread, but he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding.
Proverbs 12:11 (NKJV)

If we all lived in the countryside and wanted to be satisfied with food, we would have to work diligently on our farms. King Solomon agrees with us in Proverbs 12:11, where he observes, “He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread.” (Proverbs 12:11a).

Are You Looking for Satisfaction?

There are no shortcuts or miracles. We have to gather our farm implements and head to the fields. In the process, we will have to endure the scorching sun, biting cold, and strong winds, depending on the season. That is the cost of bread!

On the other hand, if we think farming is hard, we can try the alternative. According to Solomon, “he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding.” (Proverbs 12:11b). We can sit and daydream or engage in trivial acts. That way, we will have to borrow or beg from those who worked on their farms.

Do You Want to be Satisfied?

That is how God has designed the world. It is the reality of life that those who work diligently will enjoy the fruits of their labour. He promises to bless the work of our hands. God equally detests laziness because it goes against His instructions.

Do you want to be satisfied with the goodies of life? Work. Do you have dreams of an abundant future? Get down to business. Go to the farm. Be present and active in your office. Serve your clients. Give it your best. Satisfaction will be your portion.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I will cooperate with You for my satisfaction. Bless the work of my hands.
