God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
It is said that there are 365 instances in the Bible where we are urged not to fear. Every morning, you can remind yourself that fear is not your portion. How, then, do we become fearless?
Fear engulfs us when we believe or feel we are not in control of our circumstances. It may result from imagined situations. FEAR, according to a famous author, means, ‘False Evidence Appearing Real’.
Paul reminds Timothy “God has not given us a spirit of fear…” Fearlessness is a character trait of born-again Christians. The indwelling Spirit of God fills us with boldness to fight sin and the devil.
Instead of fear, God gives us, “power… love and …a sound mind.” We need power because we are battling forces of spiritual darkness. We need love because it casts out fear (1 John 4:8). With a sound mind, we can shun fear and trust God.
Satan will present to you real and imagined reasons and excuses for fear. He will make you fear losing your job or a loved one. He will make you dread illness and death.
Remember when Peter started sinking after initially walking on water? The apostle took his eyes off Jesus and lost ground. Only by crying out and turning to Jesus was Peter saved.
Today, if you feel like giving up, claim a spirit of power, love and a sound mind from God. Reject fear totally. Whatever it is you are facing or will face, remember, you are not a coward.
Prayer
Father, fear is not my portion. Give me power, love and a sound mind.
Fear is a tool of Satan to pull Christians down.
Fear makes one lose focus.
Fear brings uncertainty.
Fear brings doubt hence sin.
Purpose not to fear but to fix your eyes on Jesus the author and perfector of our faith.
Amen, bro!

Fear is the opposite of love. Of you analyze fear critically, it borders on worry and unbelief. Thanks, Brian.
The devil uses FEAR the same way God uses FAITH. I choose to exercise faith so that I please God. Fear brings doubts and therefore sin as it has been pointed. MUNGU TUSAIDIE
