How to Navigate the Labyrinths of Life

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will guide you with My eye.
Psalms 32:8 (NKJV)

I recently visited a town for the first time. Before I alighted from the bus, I asked the driver for directions. He called a friend of his to come and guide me to my destination. Thanks to my two newly-found friends, I navigated the labyrinth that was the new town successfully.

I Will Instruct and Guide You

My friends’ actions reminded me of God’s promise in Psalms 32:8, where He states, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will guide you with My eye.” Here, God says He will actually show us the paths to walk on to reach our destinations!

Like a visitor to a new place, how often have I needed such an assurance? That is exactly the kind of help I needed during my visit, and God chose to come in the form of generous strangers. Nevertheless, this promise encompasses more than God giving us directions to geographical places.

How to Navigate the Labyrinths of Life

Whenever life becomes an incomprehensible maze, we can ask God to help us make the right decision for His glory. How different would our choices of careers, friends, life partners, investments, and so on, be if we allowed the Lord to choose our paths and guide us with His eye?

Considering the many and varied decisions we have to make every day, God offers to help us navigate the labyrinths of life. We need to accept God’s offer to trust our lives and decisions into His hands, because He knows what is best for us and will lead us where he knows we are safe and thriving.

Prayer
Dear God, as I navigate the mazes of my life today, please instruct and teach me the way I should go. Guide me with Your eye.
