Because Jesus Accepts Us Unconditionally…

Therefore, receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.
Romans 15:7 (NKJV)

Because Jesus accepts us unconditionally, it is our duty as Christians to love and accept one another. This can be difficult, particularly when we come across others whose origins, opinions, or habits diverge from our own. But it is apparent that we are to welcome others just as Christ has welcomed us.

Just as Christ Also Received Us…

Jesus lived His entire earthly existence, showing compassion to the outcasts, sinners, and people deemed worthless by society’s norms. He treated the sick, dined with tax collectors, and showed forgiveness to those who were condemned. Thus, He showed that God’s love is unconditional.

In Romans 15:7, Paul reminds us, “Therefore, receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.” (Romans 15:7). Accepting others is a powerful means to exalt God, rather than just a kind gesture. It is by accepting one another that we show the grace and love that Christ has showered on us.

Because Jesus Accepts Us Unconditionally…

We can comply with this requirement by remembering that Christ accepts us in spite of our shortcomings. Furthermore, we need to realize that we can love and accept someone without agreeing with all of their opinions or behaviors.

Moreover, because Jesus accepts us unconditionally, we need to develop empathy by understanding the challenges, anxieties, and hopes of others. Furthermore, extending small acts of kindness to others can go a long way toward demonstrating acceptance. Lastly, we need to pray to God to help us see other people more clearly and to soften our hearts toward them.
