Christ’s Open-Door Policy

Daily Devotional – Friday, March 19, 2021

The one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

John 6:37 (NKJV)

The Open-Door Policy requires managers to be ready to listen to the questions and concerns of their staff at all times. This strategy creates a sense of belonging and worth in the worker.

Christ, too, has an open-door policy. He invited Matthew, a hated tax collector, to become a disciple. Jesus visited and dined with Zacchaeus, another tax collector, who joined the kingdom of God.

Mary Magdalene, once possessed by demons and enslaved by sexual immorality, became a follower of Christ. Saul, a tormentor of the church of Christ, became Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles.

Christ identified with the critically-ill, the demon-possessed, and the evil-doers. So close was He to outcasts that the Pharisees asked His disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” (Matthew 9:11).

In John 6:37, He answered, “The one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.” The Literal Standard Version of the Bible renders this verse: “And him who is coming to Me, I will never cast outside.” It is a continuous activity. You can start your journey to Christ right now.

Have you wandered away from Christ and want to return home? Do you want to offload a burden of sin or evil habits? Has someone rejected you, and you want solace and a new home? Do you have pressing health, family, financial, or emotional needs that you cannot bear any more?

Jesus is waiting for you with open arms. He will pardon you. He will answer your prayers because He has an open-door policy.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank you because I can come to You at any time, and you will not turn me away.

Jesus did not work independently of God the Father, but in Union with him. This should give us even more assurance of being welcomed into God’s presence and being protected by him.
Jesus’ purpose was to the will of God, not to satisfy Jesus’ human desires. When we follow Jesus, we should have the same purpose.

Amen
