Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Jesus asks us to learn from Him because He has a humble and kind heart. Being gentle entails being humble, kind, and patient. Being lowly means accepting humility, owning up to our shortcomings, and placing the needs of others before our own.
Learn from Me
Jesus opted to fully embrace these attributes despite being both God and powerful. His dealings with the tired, the broken-hearted, and the sinners demonstrated His loving nature. Instead of coming with grandiosity or demands, He extended an invitation for people to come close and feel His grace.
Taking after Jesus means embracing His humility. It entails putting aside our personal goals and comforts in order to selflessly help others. Consider the aspects of your life where your relationships may be suffering due to pride or self-interest. What acts of humility can you perform today?

Being compassionate ought to suggest restrained strength rather than weakness. It involves responding to individuals with grace and patience, even when you are provoked. Consider how you can treat people gently, especially in trying situations.
