The early church challenges us and captures the spirit of a thriving Christian community. The apostles’ teachings had a special place in the hearts of believers. Do we read the Bible thoroughly at individual and group levels? Have its teachings transformed you?

The Apostles’ Doctrine and Fellowship

The term “fellowship” (koinonia) refers to a strong, common connection among Christians. Do we actively participate in our church community, getting to know one another and sharing our joys and struggles?

This expression refers to the custom of communion as well as the sharing of meals. It is a call to acknowledge Christ’s presence with us in the ordinary. In our meetings, how can we foster an attitude of appreciation and remembering?

Further, prayer is essential to our relationship with God. In unison, the early church prayed for direction, fortitude, and intercession. As a community and as individuals, are we making prayer a priority?

How to Create a Vibrant Faith Community

Let us set aside some time every week for Bible study. To ensure responsibility and conversation, think about joining a small group. Invite other Christians to regular get-togethers. Share meals, share your hearts, and support one another in faith.

Whether it’s at shared meals or communion, make breaking bread a regular part of your routine and give some thought to Christ’s sacrifice. Create a regular prayer schedule. Take part in a prayer group or dedicate some time each day to pray for the world and your neighborhood.
