Our Source of Success

Daily Devotional – Sunday, October 20, 2024
And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand.
Genesis 39:3 (NKJV)

As a young slave, Joseph must endure unspeakable suffering. Nevertheless, he gains favor with Potiphar, his master, despite his hardships. It is not just Joseph’s talents or skills that made him successful; rather, it is the profound realization that “the Lord was with him.”

All He Did Prospered

God’s presence served as a steady anchor throughout Joseph’s turbulent existence. We, too, could encounter difficult circumstances in our lives, whether they are related to our jobs, relationships, or inner selves. While the world frequently measures success based on material accomplishments, God gauges it based on our loyalty and the quality of our relationship with Him.

God’s definition of success frequently deviates from social norms. It is often not about awards or promotions but rather about remaining obedient and believing in God’s plan even in the face of uncertainty. Joseph’s moral character and faith in God were evident in his ability to prosper in Potiphar’s home. Regardless of the circumstances, our everyday decisions to honor God determine our success.

Our Source of Success

Make it a daily ritual to include God in your actions. Recognize that He is the source of your contentment and prosperity. Think about how you can be faithful in the circumstances at hand. What modest activities may you take to conform your work and behavior to God’s will? When you are going through a challenging time, keep Joseph in mind. Your source of success is God’s presence and activity in your life.

Prayer
Almighty God, because You are with me, I know I will prosper in whatever I do, despite any negative circumstances.
