Expectations and intentional living are hallmarks of the Christian life. According to the Apostle Paul, our faith should be defined by the “blessed hope” of Christ’s second coming. The way we understand and interpret the soon return of the Lord Jesus determines the choices we make in life.

Looking for the Blessed Hope

Our blessed hope is a solid anticipation based on God’s faithfulness, not a wishful thought. Jesus’ first advent guaranteed our salvation, and His anticipated second coming guarantees our final salvation and triumph. With this knowledge, we can confront today’s obstacles and difficulties with unflinching confidence.

Paul exhorts Titus and all believers to live self-controlled, moral, and godly lifestyles while rejecting immorality and worldly appetites. We should be motivated to emulate Christ’s behavior in our thoughts, words, and deeds by our expectation for His second coming.

Serving others, spreading His love, and maintaining our faith are all essential components of actively living out the gospel. The promise of Christ’s second coming encourages and gives us hope. When life’s challenges threaten to overwhelm us, the glory we await buoys our souls.

Allow your heart to be filled with purpose and serenity by the assurance of Christ’s joyful return. While you wait, keep in mind that the Lord is faithful, so your efforts are not in vain. Our blessed hope is on the horizon. Keep your eyes on it! May your life reflect the hope that is in you.
