How to Avoid Embarrassment

Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed. Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.
Psalms 25:3 (NKJV)

How can we avoid embarrassment? The psalmist has a strong belief in God’s faithfulness in the face of difficulties and resistance. He encourages us to put our faith in the Lord because people who wait on God will not experience embarrassment.

They Shall Never Be Ashamed

Active faith is demonstrated by waiting on the Lord. It entails complete reliance and faith in the perfection of God’s timing and purposes. We shall never experience ultimate shame or disappointment, even though the world may doubt our faith or the results of our hopes.

These are the people who, in order to achieve their own goals, act dishonestly or reject God’s methods. Their schemes ultimately result in failure and shame, even though their activities may provide short-term gain. This contrast emphasizes how important it is to live in accordance with God’s will, even if it calls for endurance and patience.

How to Avoid Embarrassment

Waiting on the Lord means we believe His promises are bigger than what we are going through right now. People who trust fully in God grow stronger and soar like eagles. It is not in vain that we wait on God. Rather, our dependence on God becomes stronger, hence molding our characters to reflect God’s will.

Do you find it difficult to depend on God fully at certain points in your life? How can you actively show that you trust in His faithfulness? How can you become more patient and give yourself over to God’s timing? Avoid embarrassment by trusting in the Lord.

Heavenly Father, grant me the patience and trust to wait on You because I will never be embarrassed.
