How to Ground Yourself in God

Daily Devotional – Friday, January 24, 2025
Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”.
Ecclesiastes 12:1 (NKJV)

According to King Solomon, when we are young and full of vigor and zeal, it is critical to ground our lives in God. Eventually, the difficulties and fatigue of aging will set in, hence the need to forge a vibrant connection with God.

Remember Your Creator

We have so much potential when we are young. It is a time when values are developed, habits are established, and the life’s groundwork is established. In this dynamic stage, choosing to “remember your Creator” means accepting God as Lord over all facets of our lives, not just admitting His existence.

To remember God is to acknowledge that He is the origin of life and purpose. and the One with eternity in His hands. It entails submitting our immature desires and aspirations to His will and having faith that His purposes are far more ambitious than our own.

How to Ground Yourself in God

Even though they are full of experience and wisdom, the later years can also be difficult, hence unhappy. By developing a close relationship with God while we are young, we create a foundation of faith that will help us get through these trying times.

Seek God now, young people, while your path is still unwritten and your heart is still tender. Do you have your Creator in mind? Is he at the center of your life, directing your choices, establishing your priorities, and giving your heart meaning and happiness? Ground yourself in God now.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to remember You. in every season of life, but especially in my youth, when my heart is so often drawn to fleeting things.
