Where to Fix Your Eyes

Daily Devotional – Saturday, January 25, 2025
My eyes are ever toward the LORD, for He shall pluck my feet out of the net.
Psalms 25:15 (NKJV)

There are many obstacles, pitfalls, and traps in life that could entangle us. These traps can manifest as temptation, anxiety, demotivation, or even unforeseen difficulties. David reminds us that knowing where to fix our eyes will bring us deliverance compared to relying on our own strength.

My Eyes Are Ever Toward the LORD

We recognize that the Lord is our supreme leader, guardian, and Savior when we keep our eyes on Him. We must constantly seek His presence, pay attention to His Word, and have faith in His trustworthiness in order to maintain this posture of dependency. The might and grace of our God are greater than any of life’s traps, no matter how formidable or frightening.

David’s faith was founded on God’s flawless nature rather than ideal surroundings. Similarly, our contentment depends on God’s ability to set us free rather than on our capacity to disentangle ourselves. In faith and humility, we call on Him and He faithfully responds. Only the Lord can transform our difficulties into manifestations of His grace.

Where to Fix Your Eyes

Today, set aside some time for prayer and deliberately concentrate on the qualities of God, such as His faithfulness, love, and strength. Read the Bible for a reminder of God’s promises of salvation. Determine the areas in which you feel stuck and present them to God. Have faith that He will release you at His ideal moment. Knowing that God is already working on your side, give thanks to Him in advance for your deliverance.

Prayer
Almighty God, help me to focus on You because only You are able to free me from life’s traps.
