Where to Turn When You Need Approval

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Galatians 1:10 (NKJV)

Our human Nature is rooted in the need for approval. We yearn to have people around us. accept, value, and validate us. We can be pulled in numerous directions by social media, professional stresses, and family pressures, among other factors, which makes it easy to compromise our beliefs in order to fit in.

Seeking Human Approval

Paul reminds us of an important fact in Galatians 1:10: we are not genuinely serving Christ if our purpose is to gain the approval of human beings rather than God. Paul had encountered a lot of resistance for sharing the gospel, but He persisted because his goal was to honor God, not to gain favor with others.

As a follower of Christ, ask yourself: Who am I trying to please? Am I making choices based on what others think, or am I seeking to glorify God? True peace and fulfillment comes when we prioritize God’s approval over man’s.

Where to Turn When You Need Approval

In which aspects of your life are you tempted to compromise your faith to gain acceptance? How can you refocus your heart to seek God’s approval above all? else? What practical steps can you take to stand firm in your faith even when It’s unpopular?

Ask God. to give you the courage to walk in obedience, even when it is challenging, to Hold fast to your faith and keep your eyes fixed on Him. Let your top priority be to win God’s approval, for that is the most important matter in life.

Heavenly Father, always remind me that what matters most for me is Your approval.
