In the Name of the Lord

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Colossians 3:17 (NKJV)

Our main text challenges us to reconsider how we approach each and every area of our lives. It serves as a reminder that we should always act and speak with a profound awareness of Christ’s presence. Our motives and attitudes are just as important as what we do.

To the Glory of God

We could lose sight of the fact that God wants us to have higher aspirations than just day-to-day concerns. We must acknowledge that there is a chance to exalt God in every situation and activity. If the motive is to glorify God, even the ordinary can become sacred.

Acting in God’s name entails reflecting His heart, ideals, and character. It is about living out His grace, humility, and love in whatever we do. We are required to represent Christ in our actions and words while working, sharing family time, or even when working in our communities.

In the Name of the Lord

Furthermore, we are to give gratitude to the Almighty for everything. Gratitude turns into a prism through which we interpret our behavior and relationships. Even when life seems stressful, we may build joy, patience, and calm when we live with an attitude of gratitude.

Which aspects of your life do you need to align with the will of God? Lord Jesus, empower me to do everything in Your name and to always be grateful.
