For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18 (NKJV)
The core of the Christian faith is the cross and its message. It tells the story of Jesus’ triumphant resurrection and atoning death for our sins. However, not everyone interprets this message in the same manner. Some see it as stupidity, while others see it as God’s very strength.
Foolishness of Power?
The concept of salvation through a crucified Savior is incomprehensible to people who reject Christ. The cross stands for humility, sacrifice, and reliance on God, whereas the world celebrates strength, prestige, and independence. Many people overlook the timeless value of the cross and consider it a symbol of weakness.
The cross is a life-altering event for people who have placed their faith in Christ. We receive forgiveness, redemption, and new life as a result of Jesus’ death and resurrection. In actuality, the greatest manifestation of God’s love and might is what appears silly to the outside world.
How Do You Perceive the Message of the Cross?
The crucifixion is a part of everyday life, not merely a historical occurrence. We are commanded to live differently when we accept the power of the cross—to walk in faith, die to sin, and share the good news with others, that they, too, may be saved.
How do you perceive the message of the cross? Does it embody God’s power working in your life? Is it merely a symbol of your religion? Let your identity, choices, and purpose be shaped by the cross if you have put your faith in Christ.
Prayer
Thank You, Heavenly Father, for the power and message of the cross. Give me the courage to proclaim the good news of salvation to others that they may get saved.
