The Best Time to Seek the Lord

Seek the LORD while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near.
Isaiah 55:6 (NKJV)

Today’s key text has a subtle sense of urgency. Prophet Isaiah is urging us to take action now. We should not wait until we feel comfortable or when we feel more spiritual. We should never undervalue the window of possibility that exists, the divine proximity.

While He May Be Found

Even though God is ever-present and always in control, there are times when His Spirit awakens something deep inside of us, when the invitation feels particularly close, and when God’s voice in our consciences is very loud. Whenever you hear God’s voice, you must heed the call.

God is extending an invitation to connect with us, providing us with forgiveness, hope, and fresh life. He is not hiding. He is close, and we only need to make a call, but we must do that without delay.

The Best Time to Seek the Lord

What does pursuing the Lord currently entail in your life? Perhaps it is a return to a life of prayer. Maybe it is allowing the Word to fill your tired spirit with new knowledge. Possibly it is making the decision to put your trust in Him when life’s challenges appear unassailable.

The best time to seek the Lord is now. Don’t delay what your soul longs for. God is close by, not only for those who are holy but also for those who feel unworthy. Seek God now while He may be found.

Prayer
Dear Lord, grant me the bravery and humility to sincerely seek You out today. Make me want to learn more about You and to be a devoted believer.
