God’s Work of Art

Daily Devotional – Thursday, May 22, 2025
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)

Have you ever made something with your hands, for example, a drawing, a meal, or a home project, and felt proud of how it turned out? That’s how God feels about you. You are not just another person in the crowd. You are His masterpiece, created for a purpose.

His Workmanship

Our key text reminds us that we are not here by accident. God made us, and when we gave our lives to Jesus, He began something new in us. We are not just patched-up versions of our old selves. We are brand new, with a fresh purpose and a clean slate.

Moreover, God already has meaningful work set aside for us now that Christ has saved us. These are actions that make the world a little brighter. They could entail a conversation that encourages someone or a kind act when no one is looking.

God’s Work of Art

You may not feel like a masterpiece all the time. Life gets messy, and we don’t always see what God sees, but He has not changed His mind about you. His plans for you are still excellent. And He is right there, ready to walk with you each new step.

What gifts, passions, or life lessons has God given you? Where do you see small opportunities to love others well today? Are you open to God using your ordinary moments for His extraordinary purpose? You are God’s work of art; live that life.

Prayer
Almighty God, thank You for creating me with care and purpose. I may not always feel like it, but I know You want me to reflect Your character in my life.
