You Have Lifted Me Up

Daily Devotional – Friday, June 6, 2025
I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me.
Psalms 30:1 (NKJV)

Have you ever hit rock bottom because of a mistake you made, a loss you didn’t see coming, or a season where everything felt like too much? In today’s key text, David thanks God for lifting him up during such a moment.

You Have Rescued Me

God didn’t just see David in his low place. He reached in and pulled him out. That is who God is. He is not the kind of God who stands at a distance while we struggle. He gets close. He grabs hold of us. He restores.

Moreover, God protects our dignity in the process. He does not let our foes rejoice over us but shields us from shame. That is the kind of love God shows us. This love covers us, restores us, and gives us a new song to sing.

You Have Lifted Me Up

If you are feeling low today, take comfort; God is in the business of lifting people up. Whether it is your heart, your hope, your faith, or your whole life that feels heavy, He can lift it. He’s done it before, and He will do it again.

Where in your life do you feel stuck or weighed down? Can you remember a time when God picked you up from a low place? How did that change you? God is not far away. He is close. He is kind. He knows how to lift you up when you need it most.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for lifting me up when I have been at my lowest. Thank You for reaching out when I couldn’t climb out on my own.
