Do You Work in the Ministry of Reconciliation?

Daily Devotional – Saturday, April 23, 2022
Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:18 (NKJV)

For Jesus and His disciples to spread the Gospel everywhere, they leveraged on the power of mouth-to-mouth communication. Individuals that received the gospel or witnessed the miracles went and witnessed to others.

So impressed were the new converts that they invited others to come the following day and see Jesus for themselves. With time, multitudes were following Jesus for healing as well as physical and spiritual nourishment.

Similarly, even with modern technological advances, no method wins souls faster and more effectively that a one-on-one, heart-to-heart conversation about the love and power of the cross.

God Has Given Us the Ministry of Reconciliation

Paul recommends this method in Second Corinthians 5:18. “Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians 5:18 NKJV).

God was in Christ reconciling us with Himself at Calvary. Consequently, once I am reconciled with God, my work is to be an ambassador imploring others to be reconciled to God. (Verses 19-20).

Why I Work in the Ministry of Reconciliation

Actually, all Christians work in the Ministry of Reconciliation. We work 24/7 to win others to God. They, too, become ambassadors of Christ, inviting others to be reconciled with God. That way, God’s army of reconcilers grows every day.

I work in the Ministry of Reconciliation because I have tasted the blessings and joy of being reconciled to God, and I want others to know this Jesus, too.

Are you still in the Ministry of Reconciliation? Is there a person you need to reconcile with God today?

Prayer
Almighty Father, thank You for reconciling me with You through Jesus. Help me to reach out to others whom I should help to reconcile with You.
